Ethereum Exchange Balances Slide to 2016 Lows as Staking Hits 38M ETH
Ethereum held on exchanges has dropped to its lowest level since 2016, while Binance's ETH reserves are at their smallest since 2020, pointing to tighter circulating supply. On March 22, analyst Amr Taha flagged a $1.67 billion ETH withdrawal from OKX, and February saw roughly 31.6 million ETH leave major exchanges. Staking has also climbed to about 38 million ETH, around 33% of total supply, as ETH traded near $2,181 on March 25.

Ether faces ETF outflows, weaker DEX volumes and low futures premium in push for $2.4K
Ether (ETH) fell 6% between Wednesday and Thursday, retesting $2,050 as risk-off sentiment weighed on crypto markets. A sustained move above $2,400 may depend on reversing three signals: $298 million of net spot Ether ETF outflows since March 18, a weekly Ethereum DEX volume average of $9.4 billion (about 50% below late-2025 levels), and a 2% annualized premium in 2-month ETH futures.

The dispute follows a May 2022 SEC settlement in which Nvidia paid $5.5 million over disclosure issues tied to fiscal Q2 and Q3 2018.
