U.S. Judge Dismisses Class Action Against Uniswap Labs Over Rug Pull Tokens

A U.S. federal judge dismissed a proposed class action lawsuit against Uniswap Labs, its CEO and backers over losses from rug pull tokens traded on the decentralized exchange, CoinDesk reports. Judge Katherine Polk Failla ruled the protocol cannot be held liable for alleged scam tokens because Uniswap operates through autonomous smart contracts and is decentralized. She wrote the decentralized design leaves scam token issuers' identities "basically unknown and unknowable", leaving plaintiffs with an identifiable injury but no identifiable defendant.
