SEC, CFTC Sign MOU on Digital Asset Oversight Coordination
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to formalize coordination on digital asset oversight. According to BeInCrypto, the MOU covers six priority areas, including product classification and enforcement, and introduces a substituted compliance framework for entities registered with both agencies. BeInCrypto also reports that the agreement builds on Project Crypto, launched in January 2026, and coincides with ongoing discussions in Congress on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.
