BitMEX said it will cease exchange operations on September 23, 2026, at 04:00 UTC, and has already halted new account registrations. The company urged users to close any open positions and withdraw funds as soon as possible.
From August 26, 2026, at 04:00 UTC, BitMEX will introduce risk controls that block the opening of new positions, allowing only position reductions. Ahead of the shutdown, the platform will progressively force-liquidate remaining open positions.
Verified users who have not withdrawn their assets by the shutdown time will be charged an account fee of $50 per month or 1% annualized, whichever is higher.
