Coinbase: Clarity Act Senate vote could come as soon as next week

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Coinbase signaled a possible Senate floor vote as soon as next week on the Clarity Act, a pivotal U.S. crypto market-structure bill, with limited legislative days before the August 7 recess. The 60-vote threshold and stated opposition from some senators, plus skepticism from negotiating Democrats, raise headline-driven uncertainty around passage. Near-term market focus should center on U.S. regulatory clarity risk, affecting listed crypto intermediaries most directly.

Coinbase is bracing for a Senate vote on the Clarity Act as early as next week. Speaking on Fox Business, Coinbase policy chief Faryar Shirzad said the market-structure bill could reach the Senate floor as soon as Monday. The measure would need 60 votes to pass. Senators Josh Hawley and Rand Paul are expected to oppose it, raising the bar for Democratic support. At least seven Democrats would need to cross over, and seven Democrats involved in negotiating the text have said the bill does not go far enough. With the Senate set to begin recess on Aug. 7, the crypto industry's clearest bid for a market-structure framework may hinge on just a handful of remaining legislative days.
