Ethereum's Glamsterdam Upgrade Lifts Sepolia Gas Limit to Nearly 200M

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade testing on Sepolia lifted the block gas limit from ~60M to nearly 200M, signaling progress toward materially higher throughput and improved fee/data-access cost mechanics. Strong participation (99.97% of eligible stake) and smooth finality reduce perceived execution risk, though early blocks used only 26%–46% of capacity. With Hoodi tentatively slated for Oct 27 and no mainnet date yet, near-term impact is mainly expectations and positioning around scalability.

Ethereum developers have pushed the Glamsterdam upgrade live on the Sepolia testnet, lifting the network's block gas limit from about 60 million to nearly 200 million as part of efforts to test higher throughput for payments and transactions, according to Odaily Planet Daily. Initial test blocks consumed roughly 26% to 46% of the new capacity. In a six-minute voting round, the network produced all planned blocks and reached finality, with 99.97% of eligible staked weight participating. The upgrade also revises transaction execution costs and data access pricing. A launch on the Hoodi testnet is tentatively set for October 27, while a mainnet activation date has not yet been announced. (CoinDesk)
