Three DeFi exploits siphon $35.55M in hours as bridge and admin key risks resurface

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Three DeFi exploits drained $35.55M in hours, led by Arbitrum perps exchange AFX Trade's $24.15M loss via a compromised third-party bridge. Verus' Ethereum bridge was hit again, and B² Network suffered a staking-contract upgrade authority takeover, forcing staking suspension and user reimbursement plans. The incidents reinforce that bridges and admin-key control remain major onchain risk points, undermining confidence and near-term activity in affected ecosystems.

Three DeFi protocols were exploited within hours on Thursday, with losses totaling $35.55M, according to onchain tracker Lookonchain. Arbitrum perpetuals exchange AFX Trade (@AFX_XYZ) suffered the largest loss, with $24.15M taken via a compromised third-party bridge. Verus (@VerusCoin) lost about $7.5M after its Ethereum bridge was drained through the same flaw tied to an $11.5M incident in May. Bitcoin L2 B² Network (@BSquaredNetwork) reported $3.86M in losses after an attacker obtained upgrade authority over its staking contract. B² has paused staking and said it will reimburse affected users. The incidents underscore a recurring DeFi failure point: bridges and administrative key control, rather than broken cryptography, continue to drive major losses as more institutional capital moves onchain.
