Bitcoin Spot ETFs See $450M Outflow After U.S. Senate Blocks Clarity Act
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs saw $450M of net outflows after the Senate failed to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, reducing near-term prospects for U.S. market-structure legislation. The vote triggered broad crypto weakness, with heavier downside in regulation-sensitive tokens while BTC held relatively steady after an initial drop. Focus now shifts to the Fed rate decision, adding macro-event risk amid fragile positioning.

U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $450 million in net outflows on Tuesday, data from SoSoValue showed, marking the largest single-day withdrawal since June 25. The move followed a U.S. Senate vote that failed to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.
Bitcoin (BTC) was little changed since midnight UTC, after sliding in the immediate aftermath of the vote. The motion reportedly fell about 10 votes short of the 60 needed, with seven Democrats who had helped negotiate the bill among those voting against it.
The CoinDesk 20 Index stabilized after Tuesday's selloff, down less than 0.1% since midnight UTC following a 4.6% drop that was its steepest decline since June 5.
Market focus now shifts to the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision due later today, with investors having largely priced in a hike heading into the meeting.
The failed vote is seen as effectively closing the door on Senate passage of market-structure legislation this year, with Congress expected to be under split control in January.
Bitcoin's 24-hour decline of 1.7% was modest relative to tokens viewed as more sensitive to U.S. regulatory outcomes. Stellar (XLM) fell 9.6% over 24 hours and XRP dropped 8.1%. Within the CoinDesk 100, 95 constituents were lower over the same period.
Traditional markets were steadier: Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.33%, gold gained 0.88% and silver advanced 1.37%, while the Dollar Index was flat.
