Zcash Community Backs 25-Second Blocks and Bitcoin Halving Model in Overwhelming NU7 Vote
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Zcash governance signaling shows strong consensus for NU7: faster blocks (25s vs 75s), retention of Bitcoin-style halving, and rapid deployment once ready. The high participation rate (~2.4M ZEC; ~two-thirds of eligible supply) reduces governance uncertainty and supports a clearer protocol roadmap. Near-term impact depends on delivery risk, as features still require development, testing, and inclusion in the final upgrade.

Zcash token holders have voted overwhelmingly in favor of core consensus parameters for the protocol's upcoming NU7 network upgrade, CoinDesk reported. Approximately 2.4 million ZEC participated in the non-custodial privacy governance ballot, representing roughly two-thirds of all eligible voting tokens. Among participating balances, 99.9% approved reducing target block generation intervals from 75 seconds to 25 seconds to accelerate transaction throughput and finality. Concurrently, 98.9% of votes backed preserving the network's programmatic, Bitcoin-style four-year supply halving issuance schedule, while 99.3% supported deploying the hard fork immediately upon completion of engineering audits. While the decisive referendum establishes binding strategic direction for core developers, the proposed consensus changes remain subject to formal client testnet implementations and security validations prior to mainnet activation.
