UK pump prices climb to three-year high as Iran conflict pushes petrol to 169.68p and diesel to 191.68p

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
UK petrol and diesel retail prices hit three-year highs as the Iran conflict keeps crude above $100/bbl, reinforcing near-term tightness and risk premia across energy markets. Higher pump prices signal persistent upstream cost pressure and may feed inflation expectations, increasing sensitivity to further supply disruptions. The move is most directly supportive for benchmark crude-linked assets, while raising cost headwinds for consumers and fuel-intensive sectors.

UK retail petrol and diesel prices rose to a three-year high on Monday as the conflict in Iran continued, with petrol at 169.68p a litre and diesel at 191.68p. Filling a 55litre family car now costs more than £93 for unleaded and over £105 for diesel. The RAC said the latest prices have overtaken Sunday’s war-related peaks, while oil remains above $100 a barrel. It warned diesel could move toward the 199.05p record set in June 2022.
