Tether says KPMG audit finds USDT reserves topped liabilities by $6.814 billion in 2025

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
KPMG's unqualified first full audit of a Tether subsidiary validates USDT reserves exceeding liabilities by $6.814B and details extensive U.S. Treasury exposure plus gold verification, addressing a core, long-running market concern. Improved transparency can tighten risk premia across stablecoin rails and increase institutional comfort with USDT liquidity. The disclosure of sizable bitcoin holdings also links stablecoin credibility to broader crypto balance-sheet confidence.

Tether said KPMG U.S. has completed its first full independent audit of the company’s financial statements, issuing an unqualified opinion on Tether International’s 2025 financials. The audit found the reserves backing USDT exceeded liabilities by $6.814 billion at year-end. It also covered more than $141 billion in direct and indirect U.S. Treasury exposure, along with gold and roughly $60 billion in bitcoin, based on Arkham Intelligence data cited by outlets reporting the announcement. Supporters say the report bolsters Tether’s credibility after years of scrutiny over its reserves.
