BlackRock's Mitchnick Says Firm Will Avoid Complex Crypto ETFs; ETHB Records $43.5M Net Inflows on Day One

BlackRock will not incorporate more "complex" crypto ETF structures into its core strategy and will follow a cautious product roadmap, Robert Mitchnick, Head of Digital Assets at the firm, said on CNBC's Crypto World program, Cointelegraph reported on March 14. Mitchnick said BlackRock will apply strict selection standards focused on market maturity, liquidity depth and real-world use cases when broadening its offerings, though the market may introduce more innovative or "heterogeneous" ETF designs. On Thursday, BlackRock launched the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust (ETHB), an Ethereum ETF with staking rewards, which recorded more than $15.5 million in first-day trading volume and drew about $43.5 million in net inflows, data show. The product gives investors exposure to Ether's potential price gains while allowing them to earn additional yield from staking.
