Stanley Druckenmiller Sees Stablecoins Dominating Global Payments Within 10–15 Years
Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller expects the global payment system to migrate to stablecoins over the next 10 to 15 years, CoinDesk reports. He said fiat-backed tokens such as USDT and USDC are faster, more efficient and lower cost for transactions, making them an extremely useful real-world use case for blockchain. Druckenmiller reiterated his doubts about most crypto assets, describing them as solutions looking for a non-existent problem, while arguing that Bitcoin has largely taken shape as a store of value. He also questioned whether the U.S. dollar can maintain its role as the global reserve currency over the next 50 years, suggesting its status could ultimately be taken by some form of crypto asset.
