Irish national police say the Criminal Assets Bureau accessed and seized a crypto wallet holding 500 BTC on Tuesday, with help from Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre. The CAB put the value at more than $35 million, while Arkham-labeled addresses tied to Clifton Collins show 500 BTC moving to Coinbase Prime the same day.

PayPal said Tuesday it will expand its dollar-backed stablecoin, PayPal USD (PYUSD), to 70 global markets to enable cross-border buying, holding and transfers with faster settlement and lower costs. The rollout spans Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America, including the United Kingdom, Singapore and the United States, and PayPal said PYUSD has surpassed $4 billion in circulation.

BONK.fun says it has brought its site back online after a domain hijack tied to a breach at a third-party provider, with user losses now estimated at about $30,000. The team said on 20 March the attackers used social engineering against the domain service provider, leading to an unauthorized registrar transfer. BONK.fun added it will reimburse impacted users at 110% of losses, while BONK traded near $0.0000059 at the time of writing.

Kentucky is facing scrutiny over an amendment to HB 380, a bill aimed at regulating virtual currency kiosks, after critics said it could effectively prohibit crypto self-custody. The Bitcoin Policy Institute argues the measure would require hardware wallet providers to reset or recover users’ seed phrases and passwords, which it says is not feasible for non-custodial wallets.

Galaxy Digital research analyst Will Owens said Thursday that quantum computing poses a real risk to Bitcoin holders, but most wallets are not currently exposed. He argued funds are mainly at risk only when a wallet's public key is revealed on-chain, either because it is already visible or because it becomes visible when spending.

The Bitcoin Policy Institute said Kentucky House Bill 380 contains language that would require hardware wallet makers to help users reset passwords, PINs or seed phrases, potentially undermining self-custody. The group said the requirement was inserted via a last-minute floor amendment and would also add identity checks for people requesting a reset.

Tangem, a Switzerland-based hardware wallet provider, reported $61.3 million in revenue for 2025, representing a 102% year-over-year increase driven by its "active self-custody" approach. The company said recurring in-app activity, including DeFi access, has become a bigger growth driver than one-off device sales as monthly active users rose by 50%.
