Polymarket user smaugvision sold 20,015 AAVE for $2.06 million near $102.90, while wallets 0xFC5 and 0xA2E sold 20,000 and 19,665 AAVE for about $2.05 million and $1.95 million.

On-chain analyst Ember (@EmberCN) said that after a hacker borrowed a large amount of ETH by illicitly minting rsETH through Aave, several whale addresses began selling AAVE on-chain, sending the token down 15% on the day. A wallet tied to the Polymarket username "smaugvision" sold 20,015 AAVE at an average price of $102.9, valued at about $2.06 million. Address 0xFC5 sold 20,000 AAVE at an average price of $102.8, worth roughly $2.05 million. Address 0xA2E sold 19,665 AAVE at an average price of $99.2, valued at around $1.95 million.

Onchain data from analytics firm Lookonchain (@lookonchain) shows that in the aftermath of the KelpDAO incident, the attacker deposited rsETH into Aave and borrowed ETH, leaving Aave with a bad-debt position. The development has prompted several large holders to quickly withdraw ETH from the protocol. Aave's ETH utilization rate is now at 100%.

Alex Thorn, research director at Galaxy Digital, said the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list has historically included 518 Bitcoin addresses. He noted these addresses have received a combined 249,814 BTC and sent 239,708 BTC, leaving an estimated net balance of about 9,306 BTC—roughly $707 million at current market prices. Thorn added that OFAC sanctions are just one of several tools the U.S. uses to seize illicit assets, and said the CLARITY Act would further expand the Treasury's authority in this area.
