Bitcoin Exchange Outflows Hit $2.26B as Bitfinex Sees 31,900 BTC Withdrawn in Single Day
Bitcoin exchange withdrawals reached roughly 32,000 BTC worth about $2.26 billion on Wednesday, with blockchain data showing around 31,900 BTC leaving Bitfinex that day and pushing weekly outflows to about 47,700 BTC, a CryptoQuant analyst said. The withdrawals, which onchain analytics platforms including CryptoQuant and CoinGlass flagged as the largest from Bitfinex since June 2025, coincided with sustained negative netflows through Friday and are often associated by market analysts with accumulation and reduced near-term selling pressure. Related stablecoin data from early March show about $1.1 billion flowed into exchanges before Bitcoin netflows turned negative to around negative $37.5 million, while Bitcoin traded near $70,000 and later reclaimed $73,000 within 24 hours on March 5. The pattern of capital moving in via stablecoins followed by sizeable BTC outflows is frequently interpreted by analysts as large spot buying followed by transfers to cold storage wallets.
