Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed House Bill 1042, titled Regulation and Investment of Cryptocurrency, authorizing certain state-run retirement plans to add a brokerage window with at least one cryptocurrency investment option. The law defines digital assets as cryptographically secured currencies outside central control, introduces tax protections for legitimate crypto use, and coincides with Bitcoin trading around $71,522 after rising nearly 8% in the past 24 hours. The state legislature also advanced House Bill 1116 to prohibit crypto ATMs, which awaits the governor's signature.

Brad Garlinghouse Sees 90% Chance CLARITY Act Passes by April 2026 as Banks Battle Stablecoin Yield Rules
On 3 March 2026, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said he believes there is a 90% chance the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act will be approved by the end of April 2026 and argued the bill is primarily aimed at protecting U.S. consumers. The legislation, which cleared the House in July 2025 but is stalled in the Senate over stablecoin yield provisions opposed by major banks, would reassign regulatory authority between the SEC and CFTC and introduce a new "maturity test" for digital assets. Market projections for XRP tied to the bill's passage range from a conservative $2.80 to bullish scenarios of $15–$30, while prediction markets currently assign lower odds of enactment than Garlinghouse.
