US SEC and CFTC Sign MOU to Coordinate Cryptocurrency Regulation

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding to coordinate oversight of cryptocurrency markets, officials said. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the regulators, support lawful innovation in digital asset products and services, and strengthen investor protection and market integrity. Both agencies plan to use the arrangement to develop a fit-for-purpose regulatory framework for crypto assets, potentially reducing longstanding jurisdictional conflicts.
