Morgan Stanley has chosen Coinbase and BNY Mellon to provide custodial services for its planned Bitcoin exchange-traded fund. The selection of these two institutions positions the proposed Bitcoin ETF to leverage established digital asset and traditional custody infrastructure.

Bitcoin rose back above $73,000 for the first time since early February, trading up 7% at around $73,200, CoinGecko data show. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds acquired roughly $776 million in BTC last week and around $789 million in the week beginning March 2, market analyst Ali Martinez said on X. Using UTXO Realized Price Distribution, Martinez noted that onchain supply between $72,000 and $81,000 appears comparatively thin, with larger supply clusters around $83,307 and $84,569 that could act as stronger resistance if the rally extends.

At Bitcoin Investor Week in New York, Anthony Pompliano, Strategy CEO Phong Le and KindlyMD CEO David Bailey discussed Bitcoin's long-term outlook and the future of Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs), with Le outlining Strategy's evolution from an initial $600 million BTC purchase to using $12 billion in leverage via convertible notes and a 2025 shift to raising $7 billion as a digital credit company issuing perpetual preferreds such as Stretch (STRC) on Nasdaq. Le said products including STRC, which averages $150 million in daily volume, offer short duration and lower volatility while providing BTC exposure, adding investors should view BTC with a 4 to 5 year horizon and that Strategy will not sell Bitcoin unless BTC trades at $8,000 for 5 years straight. Bailey argued Bitcoin's long-term success depends on more people owning BTC each year rather than government support, citing a recent 0.3346 BTC transaction worth $22,650 by the U.S. government as an example of official engagement that could be routine wallet management, while Le said more DATs would be positive for Bitcoin but Bailey cautioned that many DATs lack Strategy's strengths and predicted about half could disappear over the next 18 months amid consolidation, as BTC recently moved above the $62,960 to $70,900 range and gained about 7% in 24 hours with further momentum potentially pushing the price beyond $78,800, TradingView data show.

Michael Saylor said his side "can buy more Bitcoin than they can sell," signaling continued accumulation of the largest cryptocurrency. Saylor and Strategy are expected to control more than 800,000 Bitcoin by year-end.

Kevin Warsh, known for his pro-Bitcoin stance, has been nominated to serve as Chair of the Federal Reserve. The nomination positions a Bitcoin supporter at the head of the U.S. central bank.

Bitcoin could revisit $50,000 before its next major rally, crypto analyst Crypto Patel said, citing historical cycles where the asset fell 70% to 85% from peaks before forming durable bottoms, including drawdowns in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Patel maintains a long-term bullish outlook and argues that after a deeper correction and renewed accumulation, Bitcoin might eventually climb toward $220,000 in the coming cycle. On the technical front, BTC has broken above a descending resistance trendline and reclaimed the $72,000 level that previously capped several rallies, setting potential upside targets around $80,000, $84,000 and $90,000 if the breakout holds. If price fails to hold $72,000, support could emerge near $64,000 and then $60,000, aligning with a "final flush" scenario some analysts are monitoring before a longer-term recovery.

Bitcoin is trading below its fair value given current macro conditions and industry progress, Keyrock CEO Kevin de Patoul said, noting the asset is down about 18% year-to-date after hitting an all-time high near $125,000 in early October last year. He argues investors still treat bitcoin as a risk-on asset, with capital flows over the past 18 months appearing tactical rather than long-term, and sees 2026 as a transition year in which speculative crypto-native cycles fade while tokenization, stablecoins and institutional infrastructure advance. From Keyrock's work with banks, asset managers and exchanges, de Patoul expects the real inflection in 2027 and 2028 as regulatory clarity improves, with even a small portion of traditional capital markets migrating onchain potentially making RWAs as large as the entire crypto market of previous cycles.

President Trump formally nominated Kevin Warsh for a post. Warsh previously characterized Bitcoin as a sustainable store of value comparable to gold, specifically telling younger market participants in 2021 that Bitcoin functions as "your new gold."
