Average monthly trading volume across South Korea’s five major KRW exchanges fell from 125.2 trillion won to 98.1 trillion won in Q1 2026. On May 30, blockchain security firm Blockaid reported an exploit affecting Ethereum's Alephium TokenBridge, where forged approvals were used to move funds. The incident drained $815,000 in seven minutes and unlocked USDT, USDC, WBTC, and WETH, while attackers also minted 13.76 million wrapped ALPH without depositing ALPH.

Gravity Bridge, a cross-chain bridge linking Ethereum and the Cosmos ecosystem, was attacked on May 30, with about $5.4 million drained across USDT, ETH, USDC, and PAYG. The protocol said validators should halt validators and orchestrators while an investigation continues, and reported the bridge was halted after validator action. The incident coincided with TVL sliding from $11.82 million to $6.24 million in a day.
