Fogo, an SVM Layer-1 network, said it has temporarily suspended the Fogo mainnet after detecting unauthorized activity, citing preventive steps to block further movement of potentially compromised assets. During the downtime, the project plans to roll out a network upgrade that will restrict addresses linked to the incident.
The team said it will share additional details once information is confirmed, and urged users to rely only on Fogo's official channels for updates. Fogo has not disclosed the root cause, the amount of assets impacted, or an expected timeline for restoring mainnet operations.
Earlier reports said the Fogo Foundation was attacked by unknown actors, with about 400 million FOGO tokens transferred to attacker-controlled addresses. The foundation said it has notified relevant exchanges and is working with law enforcement and forensic specialists.
