Trump-Backed World Liberty Financial Wins Conditional OCC Nod for National Trust Bank Charter
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
OCC preliminary conditional approval for a Trump-backed national trust charter signals accelerating U.S. regulatory acceptance of crypto-linked banking models. If finalized, the entity could issue/redeem the USD1 stablecoin, manage reserves, and offer custody, strengthening stablecoin infrastructure and institutional on-ramps without FDIC deposits or lending. The broader trend of increased charter approvals for fintech and digital-asset firms is supportive for sector risk sentiment.

World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture backed by the Trump family, has received preliminary conditional approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for a national trust bank charter, Bloomberg reported. The approval would allow it to form World Liberty Trust Company.
If final authorization is granted, the trust bank would be permitted to issue and redeem the USD1 stablecoin directly, oversee the management of its reserve assets, and provide digital asset custody services.
The filing comes as U.S. regulators accelerate the pace of new bank charter approvals. OCC data show 22 bank charter applications were approved in the first 19 months of Trump's second term, surpassing the combined total from the prior five years, with many approvals tied to fintech and digital-asset firms.
World Liberty Trust Company would not operate as a traditional commercial bank. It would not be able to take FDIC-insured deposits or make conventional loans.
