Costco lifts Kirkland motor oil price to about $58 and caps weekly purchases
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Costco's sharp motor oil price hike and purchase limits highlight tightening petroleum-derived feedstock availability as Brent rises above $109 amid Middle East disruptions and a key Saudi pipeline outage. With the U.S. importing over 40% of Group III base oils from the region, supply risk is filtering into downstream products and fuel markets, reinforcing crude-linked inflation pressures and keeping energy complex volatility elevated in the near term.

Costco has raised the price of its Kirkland Signature full-synthetic motor oil and set weekly purchase limits as crude oil costs climb again. The Kirkland 5-quart two-pack now costs about $58, up from roughly $30 last year, and shoppers can buy only two boxes per week. The retailer is also limiting purchases of Mobil 1 full-synthetic motor oil 1-quart six-packs, priced around $44, to five per membership. Brent crude topped $109 a barrel on Monday morning, and U.S. gasoline and diesel prices have moved higher, according to AAA.
