BitMine Buys 60,976 ETH, Lifting Total Holdings to 4.5 Million Tokens
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) purchased 60,976 Ethereum tokens on Monday, bringing its total ETH holdings to 4.5 million and its share of overall Ethereum supply to about 3.76%, the company said. The firm reported 3,040,483 ETH are currently staked, valued at roughly $6 billion at an ETH price of $1,965, while overall assets stand at $10.3 billion, including 4.535 million ETH, $1.2 billion in cash and other crypto holdings. CEO Tom Lee said ETH has remained resilient above the $2,000 level amid heightened geopolitical risks and higher oil prices, describing crypto prices as being in the final phase of what he called a "minicrypto winter". The purchase reflects faster accumulation, with weekly buying increasing from an average of 45,000–50,000 ETH to 60,976 ETH, as Ethereum gained 4% on Monday to reclaim $2,000 and BMNR shares rose 10% to $20.70.
