U.S. Treasury Sanctions Six Individuals, Two Firms Over North Korea's $800 Million Crypto Conversion in 2024

The U.S. Treasury sanctioned six individuals and two companies for helping North Korea convert approximately $800 million into cryptocurrency to fund its weapons programs in 2024. The measures target people and entities allegedly involved in moving the funds into crypto for Pyongyang, the department said.
