Malicious Chrome Extension Diverts Solana Swap Fees to Attacker Since June 2024
A Chrome browser extension marketed as a Solana trading tool has been identified as malware that secretly adds hidden fees to user transactions. The extension, active since June 18, 2024, routes a minimum of 0.0013 SOL or approximately 0.05% of each swap value to an attacker-controlled address. Cybersecurity firm Socket discovered the scheme and has requested removal from Google.
