Humanity: Quantstamp Report Attributes H Token Theft to North Korean Hackers
Humanity published an investigation report by Quantstamp detailing the recent H token theft and attributing the incident to North Korean hackers. The report says the attackers used phishing emails posing as Bithumb to compromise board members' devices and obtain private keys, allowing them to take control of accounts.
With access secured, the attackers executed transactions on Ethereum and BNB Chain, moving about 141.18 million H tokens and minting additional tokens. The stolen assets were then sold on Uniswap and PancakeSwap over an eight-hour window, the report said.
