FAQ
About Monad (MON)
How can I buy Monad (MON)?
You can buy Monad (MON) on supported CEXs, DEXs, or crypto wallets, although it is not yet listed on BingX. See our How to Buy Monad guide for details. Sign up with BingX to trade MON first when it goes live.
What Is Monad (MON) and How Does It Work?
Monad is a next-generation, EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain designed for both scalability and decentralization. It enables developers to deploy existing Ethereum smart contracts without rewriting them, while targeting much higher throughput, lower fees, and faster finality.
Under the hood, Monad achieves performance through parallel (optimistic) transaction execution: transactions are speculatively executed in parallel, then validated and merged according to read/write conflicts, which helps boost throughput without sacrificing correctness. Its consensus layer, called MonadBFT (based on a HotStuff-style protocol), supports fast block confirmation and aims for single-slot finality under favorable conditions.
In practice, MON (Monad’s native token) is expected to power gas fees, staking, delegation, and governance within the network. As the protocol transitions from testnet to mainnet, MON will be integral to the security and economic incentives of the Monad ecosystem.
When Did Monad Network Launch?
Monad was founded by Monad Labs (later evolving into a split structure with Monad Foundation overseeing governance and ecosystem support) as a high-performance, EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain. The project gained backing through major funding rounds, for example, raising around $225 million in April 2024, and has been driven by a vision of scaling Ethereum-style smart contracts with parallel execution and a novel database architecture.
Monad’s public testnet officially launched on February 19, 2025, marking the first time developers and users could interact with the protocol in a live albeit non–mainnet environment. Monad's mainnet launch is scheduled to occur on October 14, 2025.
Monad Roadmap Highlights
• 2023: Seed rounds and early development, protocol design, architecture research
• Early 2024: Private funding (strategic & venture rounds) and internal testnet / closed developer previews
• February 19, 2025: Launch of public testnet, faucet distribution, ecosystem onboarding begins
• 2025 (future): Mainnet launch, token generation event (TGE), listings on exchanges, USDC integration (Circle to onboard USDC at mainnet day 1)
• Post-launch: Ecosystem expansion — onboarding dApps, grants, upgrades, governance and scalability improvements
What Is the MON Token Utility?
The MON token is the native utility token of the Monad network. Once mainnet is live, MON is used to pay for network gas fees, for staking by validators, for delegation by token holders, and for participating in governance decisions across the protocol.
To trade MON on BingX’s spot market, simply deposit funds, e.g. USDT, into your BingX account, go to the spot trading section, select the MON/USDT (or equivalent) pair, and place a market order or limit order to buy or sell MON.
What Is Monad Tokenomics?
As of early October 2025, Monad (MON) has not released its full tokenomics publicly, but available information indicates that MON will serve as the network’s native utility token for gas fees, staking, delegation, and governance. The total supply is confirmed to be around 100 billion MON, with allocations expected for the community, ecosystem development, and investors following its $225 million funding round. Detailed vesting schedules, emission rates, and ecosystem reward structures are expected to be confirmed alongside Monad’s mainnet launch later in 2025.
How to Claim Monad Airdrop
The Monad airdrop is a highly anticipated event expected to reward early supporters and testnet participants with MON tokens once the network transitions to its mainnet. Although the team has not yet confirmed official distribution details, community reports suggest that eligibility will likely depend on on-chain activity during the testnet phase, such as interacting with Monad’s ecosystem dApps, using its faucet, or completing quests. The testnet launched on February 19, 2025, marking the start of the potential qualifying period, while the mainnet launch and token generation event (TGE) are projected for later in 2025.
To prepare for the airdrop, users should add the Monad testnet to MetaMask, claim test tokens from the official faucet, and actively engage with dApps to record on-chain interactions. Other recommended steps include joining official community channels, completing campaign tasks on Layer3 or similar quest platforms, and keeping an eye out for official snapshot and claim announcements from the Monad team.

How to Claim MON Tokens After the Airdrop
• Add the Monad testnet network to your wallet (MetaMask, etc.)
• Claim MON testnet tokens from the faucet (often allowed every ~12 hours)
• Interact with ecosystem dApps (swap, provide liquidity, mint NFTs, stake in testnet protocols)
• Complete quests or tasks (Layer3 campaigns, project bounties) associated with Monad’s testnet or ecosystem
• Stay active in the community, e.g., Discord, Twitter, follow updates, and be ready to claim when official airdrop instructions are published
What Makes Monad Different From Ethereum and Other Layer-1 Chains?
Monad sets itself apart from Ethereum and other Layer-1 blockchains through its parallel transaction execution model, which allows multiple transactions to be processed simultaneously instead of sequentially. This innovation dramatically increases throughput, enabling Monad to target over 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) while maintaining full EVM compatibility, meaning developers can easily deploy existing Ethereum smart contracts without modification. Its architecture also integrates a custom low-latency database, MonadDB, and an optimized consensus engine called MonadBFT, which supports faster block finality and improved network efficiency.
Unlike many next-generation chains that compromise decentralization for speed, Monad aims to balance both by keeping validator hardware requirements relatively modest while maintaining high performance. The network’s focus on deterministic parallelism, predictable gas pricing, and true developer portability positions it as a bridge between Ethereum’s robust ecosystem and Solana-level scalability. This combination makes Monad one of the most promising high-performance, developer-friendly Layer-1s entering mainnet in 2025.
How to Store MON Tokens Securely
The safest and most convenient way to store your MON tokens is directly on BingX, where they remain protected under the exchange’s advanced multi-layer security infrastructure. BingX uses cold storage for the majority of assets, real-time monitoring systems, and insurance reserves to safeguard users’ funds from breaches or loss. By keeping your MON tokens in your BingX account, you can also trade instantly on the MON/USDT spot pair, access portfolio management tools, and benefit from 24/7 customer support.
Alternatively, if you prefer self-custody, you can store MON tokens in a compatible non-custodial wallet such as MetaMask or any EVM-supported wallet once Monad’s mainnet goes live. These wallets allow you to maintain full control of your private keys while interacting directly with Monad dApps. To enhance security, always verify contract addresses, enable hardware wallet integration, such as Ledger or Trezor, and back up your recovery phrase securely offline.
Is Monad (MON) a Good Investment?
Monad (MON) presents a compelling investment case because it aims to solve Ethereum’s scalability bottlenecks through a set of technical innovations, such as parallel transaction execution, deferred execution, i.e. decoupling consensus from execution, a custom on-chain database MonadDB, and an optimized consensus protocol - MonadBFT, allowing it to target high throughput of 10,000 TPS with low latency and low fees.
Because it retains full EVM compatibility, existing Ethereum dApps and developer tooling can migrate easily, reducing friction in adoption and enabling Monad to tap into the mature Ethereum ecosystem. If the project can execute its roadmap transparently, capture developer mindshare, and deliver a robust, decentralized mainnet, MON has potential upside as a core infrastructure token in the evolving Layer-1 space, with corresponding risks due to early stage execution, competition, and technological complexity.
