Flacks Group revises bid for Acciaierie d’Italia after Milan appeals court orders Taranto hot-area shutdown within 90 days
On 27 July 2026, the Milan Court of Appeal ordered Acciaierie d’Italia (ADI) to shut all production in the hot-rolling area of its Taranto steelworks within 90 days, overturning an earlier suspension that had been conditional on completing environmental measures. Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) is set to review ADI’s updated plan on 5 August. India’s Jindal Steel re-entered the acquisition talks in March 2026 after withdrawing in 2025, with a plan to ship output from its new low-carbon steel slab plant in Oman to be re-rolled at ADI. The ruling directly disrupts ADI’s operating continuity and the basis for its valuation.
