SWIFT’s ISO 20022 Upgrade, Tokenization Push And What It Could Mean For XRP’s Role
On March 10, DropCoin developer Bird argued on X that markets may be overlooking how SWIFT’s ISO 20022 migration, tokenization, and shared-ledger experiments could align with the XRP Ledger in institutional finance. Bird contends SWIFT is likely to remain the key messaging coordinator while settlement shifts to blockchain-based rails, where networks such as the XRP Ledger might serve as neutral liquidity bridges. He stresses this is not evidence of a near-term SWIFT–XRP integration but an architectural direction he believes investors may be underpricing, with XRP trading at $1.3896 at press time.
