Crypto: Bitcoin Network Sees Rare Two-Block Reorg

Bitcoin experienced a rare two-block chain reorganization today after briefly splitting into competing chains around block height 941,880. AntPool mined one version of block 941,881 and ViaBTC extended it to 941,882. At the same time, Foundry USA produced competing versions of both blocks. The fork was resolved as @FoundryServices continued to win subsequent blocks, ultimately mining seven consecutive blocks from 941,879 through 941,885. Blocks produced by AntPool and ViaBTC were orphaned. While single-block reorgs occur from time to time, two-block reorgs are far less common because the tie lasts through an additional block cycle. The event remained within normal proof-of-work consensus behavior. No $BTC or user funds were lost, and no double-spend activity was observed.
