Ethereum Active Addresses Drop 45% Since February 7 Peak
Ethereum daily active addresses fell to 746,062 on March 3 from 1,329,193 on February 7, a 45% decline that follows sustained price weakness, Etherscan data obtained by Finbold show. The February 7 reading was near the all-time high of 1,420,187 active ETH addresses recorded on December 9, 2022, while ETH has rebounded 6.62% in the past 24 hours to $2,078 as Bitcoin moved back above $70,000. Finbold reports total crypto market capitalization rose 4.8% to $2.42 trillion over the same period, with perpetual futures open interest up 8.8% and funding rates 21% higher, signaling traders are adding leveraged long positions. Ethereum faces resistance near $2,150 with a potential upside target around $2,300 if that level breaks, Finbold notes, while a drop below $2,000 could reopen the $1,900 zone and Bitcoin holding above $71,500 remains a key gauge for broader market strength.
