XRPL active addresses slide 41.36% in four days as XRP weakens

Activity on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) cooled sharply heading into March 23, with the number of active addresses down by 7,902 over four days, according to CryptoQuant on-chain data. After climbing to a local peak of 26,358 on March 19, active addresses fell in the following sessions and were hovering around 15,456 at the time of reporting. The move represents a 41.36% drop in active users. In contrast, the total count of XRPL addresses expanded rapidly through March, rising to more than 8.1 million. The divergence—fewer active addresses even as overall addresses grow—suggests some participants may be staying on the sidelines despite ongoing network adoption. The pullback in active addresses also coincided with weaker token performance. XRP fell about 10% last week before rebounding roughly 4% on Monday. The token slid from $1.54 last Tuesday to a local low of $1.36 earlier Monday, then recovered to around $1.46 at publication. Historically, declining active addresses has been linked to softer demand. Looking ahead, XRPL activity may hinge on organic usage. Finbold previously cited research indicating that more than 53% of XRPL transactions are tied to payments. With Ripple Labs pushing broader adoption of Ripple Payments—its solution for moving money across traditional and digital rails—active usage could accelerate in the near term.
