Ford Q2 U.S. sales fall 10.3% as Escape, Corsair phaseout and fleet slump weigh
Ford said its second-quarter U.S. sales fell 10.3% from a year earlier, citing the phaseout of the Escape and Lincoln Corsair and a sharp drop in commercial fleet deliveries. F-Series sales slipped 11% as the company dealt with delayed commercial production tied to last fall’s aluminum supply shortages after two fires at supplier Novelis, and Ford is working to add 50,000 trucks to inventory. Even with the broader decline, Ford said its estimated June retail market share rose 0.2 percentage points to 12.3%, supported by higher-margin SUVs and F-Series trucks.
