CFTC Chair Michael Selig unveils 'Future-Proof' digital asset mandate review

According to his Washington Post opinion piece, CFTC Chair Michael Selig announced a "Future-Proof" initiative to modernize oversight of digital assets and prediction markets. He was nominated in October 2025, confirmed on December 18, 2025, and sworn in on December 22, 2025, and the agency's four other commissioner seats remain vacant.
