CME Group has announced the launch of futures trading tied to the new Nasdaq CME Crypto Index, a regulated basket that includes XRP, Stellar (XLM) and Chainlink (LINK) alongside Bitcoin and several other major tokens. Early screen data showed standard XRP futures (XRPM6) at 1.1090 with 169 contracts traded, while micro XRP futures (MXPM6) were at 1.1105 with 611 contracts and the token down about 3% on the day.

MUFG, SMBC and Mizuho said they will jointly issue a Japanese yen-pegged stablecoin, targeting a commercial rollout by March 2027. Bitmine Immersion Technologies bought 75,000 ETH for about $123 million on June 9, taking its ether holdings to more than 5.4 million ETH.
