In parallel, regulators advanced integration with banking, as the OCC conditionally approved five crypto firms for national trust bank status and the SEC cleared DTCC to tokenize select securities beginning in late 2026.

On December 14, 2025, Pakistan's finance ministry announced an MoU with Binance to advise on tokenizing up to $2 billion in state-owned assets. In early December, Robinhood said it would acquire Indonesian brokerage PT Buana Capital Sekuritas and licensed crypto trader PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, with closing targeted for the first half of 2026. China’s Justice Network has issued a proposal to guide courts in handling criminal cases involving virtual currency, detailing standards for asset disposal and victim protection. The plan introduces third‑party auction assistants and dual technical standards for evidence and financial procedures, aiming to improve recovery and prevent seized assets from reentering markets.
