Metaplanet has signed an agreement to acquire all shares of Siiibo Securities, a licensed Japanese securities firm, with closing expected in July, CEO Simon Gerovich said. After completion, Siiibo will be renamed Metaplanet Securities, adding a Type I Financial Instruments Business license and online bond platform to support Bitcoin focused services under Project Nova.

Metaplanet said it will acquire licensed brokerage Siiibo Securities for 2.1 billion yen, about $13 million, rename it Metaplanet Securities, and use its Type I registration to develop and distribute Bitcoin linked yield products in Japan. The company expects the deal to close on July 13.

It has financed purchases largely through zero-coupon bond issuance, selling bonds at a discount with no periodic interest payments, where investor returns come from the gap between purchase price and face value at maturity. Metaplanet framed the $13.11 million acquisition price as relatively small compared with the cost and time required to obtain a securities license from scratch in Japan, where regulatory hurdles are high and approvals can take years. Japan was among the first major economies to tighten oversight of crypto exchanges after the 2014 Mt. Gox collapse, and the Financial Services Agency is regarded as one of the world's strictest regulators. With the Bank of Japan only recently starting to move away from ultra-loose policy after decades of near-zero rates, demand has grown among savers for products offering meaningful returns. Yen-denominated corporate bonds yielding 2% to 8% such as those Siiibo specializes in have gained traction as alternatives have been limited.

Bitcoin's recent retreat to around $59,100 is intensifying pressure on short-term holders and miners, CoinDesk reported, as risk appetite remains fragile and ETF outflows add to the strain. Analyst Darkfost said spot Bitcoin ETFs are in their largest drawdown on record, with roughly $10.5 billion in net outflows since October 12. The scale of the redemptions suggests current buying support is limited. The report added that ETF flows should be assessed alongside on-chain indicators. Miner revenues are also weakening. The 30-day average Puell Multiple has fallen to 0.74 from 0.83 at the end of May, pointing to shrinking income relative to the annual average. Analyst Axel Adler Jr. noted that when the Puell Multiple nears 0.50, it has often coincided with broad miner shutdown phases such as those seen in 2022, and the current reading is trending in that direction. The report said shutdown risk is building. The miner surrender indicator stands at 21%, well above the severe-stress threshold of 15%, signaling continued operational pressure. AMBCrypto said further price weakness would raise the risk of miner shutdowns and a contraction in hash rate.

CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler said Bitcoin is moving into exchanges at a rapid pace while stablecoin liquidity continues to leave the market, tightening the supply-demand balance. Adler noted the 30-day net exchange flow for BTC is roughly +114,000 BTC, reversing the net outflow of about 85,000 to 115,000 BTC seen in early May. The shift suggests the market has moved from an accumulation phase to a distribution phase. The indicator climbed to around +167,000 BTC in early June. Stablecoins are also showing weaker liquidity conditions. The 30-day moving-average net flow is about $105 million, up from roughly +$40 million to +$90 million in early May. That range widened to around $150 million to $170 million in early June.

CryptoQuant says Bitcoin may be nearing a key valuation zone, with the realized price around $53,600 acting as a potential downside floor if weakness persists, but not a confirmed cycle bottom. The firm points to a sharp deterioration in demand: total Bitcoin demand fell by 652,000 BTC last week, and 30-day spot ETF demand growth slowed to 74,000 BTC, signaling a meaningful drop in investor appetite. Research head Julio Moreno said the $53,600 level should be treated as a valuation benchmark that has historically offered support during major drawdowns. Even with softer conditions, Moreno noted realized holder losses remain well below levels typically seen during capitulation. Historically, bear-market lows have often formed near or slightly below realized price. In the 2022 FTX-driven selloff, Bitcoin briefly traded below realized price before rebounding. Bitcoin is currently trading around $63,000, about 9% above the $53,600 realized-price level. CryptoQuant added that the lack of panic-selling behavior seen at prior bottoms supports viewing $53,600 as a valuation floor rather than proof the cycle low is already in. Some analysts are projecting lower targets. Crypto analyst Crypto Rover highlighted a long-term trendline Bitcoin has respected for nearly a decade; prior touches preceded rallies of 1,300%, 1,900%, 1,900%, and 700% across different cycles. Bitcoin has returned to that trendline again, though Rover said the correction may not be finished. Rover added that Bitcoin has reached the short-term holder realized price near $74,000, but has yet to test the broader realized price around $53,600 or the long-term holder realized price near $50,000. He noted prior cycle bottoms traded below realized-price levels before a sustained recovery. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez also flagged $48,300 as an important accumulation area based on Bitcoin's Investor Price metric. He has previously pointed to the $53,900 and $43,150 MVRV bands as major support zones.
