Metaplanet to Buy Siiibo Securities in Bid to Build a Bitcoin-Focused Financial Platform in Japan

Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich said the company has signed an agreement to acquire Siiibo Securities in a 100% equity deal. Siiibo is a Japanese early mover in the online corporate bond market and holds a Type I license. The transaction is slated to close in July 2026. Upon completion, the business will be renamed Metaplanet Securities. The purchase is Metaplanet's first major M&A transaction and represents the first concrete move under "Project Nova," its strategy to develop a Bitcoin-centric financial ecosystem in Japan.
