ZEC has rebounded toward $1,200 ahead of the upcoming Network Upgrade 7 (NU7), putting the privacy-focused cryptocurrency back on investors’ watchlists. Key resistance for bulls sits between $1,220 and $1,270. The move comes at an important time for the privacy-focused cryptocurrency as traders weigh optimism over faster confirmations and network improvements against weakening momentum and recent market volatility.
ZEC rose about 2.6% on Oct. 25 and traded near $1,184. Despite the rebound, it remains more than 25% lower over the past month. Recent trading has been volatile. In the last 24 hours, the token moved between roughly $1,120 and $1,223, with trading volume approaching $575 million, highlighting strong market participation. It has gained more than 5% over the past week.
Technical signals remain mixed, and sellers still hold the near-term advantage. ZEC trades below its 20-day moving average near $1,214, a level buyers have not yet reclaimed. Momentum has improved slightly, with the Relative Strength Index near 47, suggesting recovery efforts are continuing but stronger buying pressure is needed.
Support sits between $1,175 and $1,180. Below that range, traders are watching $1,100 and $1,084; a break there could shift attention toward $1,000. Resistance is equally important. A move above $1,214 could strengthen bullish sentiment and open the path toward $1,300. Analysts remain divided, with some expecting further weakness below current levels and others seeing the recent pullback as an attractive setup before the next move higher.
The NU7 upgrade has become the biggest talking point around Zcash. Activation is expected around Nov. 5, drawing attention from traders and node operators. The upgrade cuts the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, potentially delivering confirmations about three times faster. It also changes fee allocation, with part of transaction fees supporting future block rewards. The fixed 21 million coin supply remains unchanged. Node operators must install compatible software before activation, and preparations are already underway across the network.
Earlier upgrades strengthened supply accounting protections and introduced quantum-recovery features, supporting long-term interest in Zcash. A proposed spot ZCash fund remains under regulatory review.
Crypto Patel (@CryptoPatel) noted on Oct. 26, 2026 that ZEC had rallied 10,735% in just 28 months but warned it may have formed a major top and could face a deeper correction. The post cited $41.1 million in reported weekly ETF inflows and the NU7 upgrade’s 25-second blocks, while noting that price was still 38% lower.
ZEC has rebounded into a critical price zone ahead of a major network event. Buyers need to reclaim resistance near $1,214 to improve momentum, while NU7 could help sentiment through faster confirmations and network enhancements. Traders are now focused on whether ZEC can build enough strength to sustain the recovery.
