Bitcoin experienced approximately $93.14 million in liquidations within a four-hour period on Feb. 9, according to data from HyperInsight and CoinGlass. This significant market event was triggered by a brief price surge to $72,300, with short positions comprising 81.4% of the total wiped-out capital. A substantial portion, around 60%, of these liquidations occurred on the Hyperliquid platform. Notably, address 0x5dc on Hyperliquid saw 201 BTC short positions, valued at roughly $14.49 million, forcibly closed. This included a single, substantial $11.63 million liquidation that fully depleted the account. Another Hyperliquid position with a notional value exceeding $18 million was also liquidated during the same volatile period.
