Zondacrypto CEO Reportedly in Israel as Exchange Faces Potential $100M+ Shortfall

Polish crypto exchange Zondacrypto is facing a deepening crisis after reports that CEO Przemysław Kral has left for Israel, where his Israeli citizenship could complicate any extradition effort, according to Onet. The exchange is said to be nearing bankruptcy, with roughly 99% of its Bitcoin reserves unaccounted for. Kral has stated that about 4,500 BTC cannot be accessed because the private keys are held by founder Sylwester Suszek, who has been missing since 2022 and is believed by prosecutors to have been killed. Zondacrypto has halted withdrawals and its management team has resigned. Polish authorities have opened criminal and financial probes. Total losses are estimated to exceed $100 million.
