Trend Research's ETH Long Position Losses Hit $763M, Erasing $315M Prior Profit and $448M Principal
Trend Research has recorded a total loss of $763M on its latest Ethereum long position, wiping out a previous $315M profit from buying ETH between $1,000 and $2,000 and selling around $4,000, and losing an additional $448M of principal, on-chain analyst Ember reported on Feb. 6. Over five days from the afternoon of Feb. 1, Trend Research sold 255,500 ETH at an average price of $2,168 for $554M in a stop-loss move, then withdrew 483M USDT from Binance to repay debt and reduce leverage. The firm now holds 396,000 ETH worth $754M with an average entry price of $3,180, while leveraged borrowing totals 526M U and ETH lending positions show liquidation prices ranging from $1,509 to $1,708, primarily around $1,560, with $258M of losses realized and $505M unrealized.
