New GLP-1 weight-loss pills may widen access but strain employer insurance coverage

Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly have launched new GLP-1 weight-loss pills that are expected to lift demand. But employers that sponsor health plans may be reluctant to expand coverage because the pills are priced roughly in line with injectable versions. With costs already rising, some companies are tightening eligibility rules or considering reductions in GLP-1 benefits.
