ESMA Adds 15 Crypto Asset Service Providers to MiCA Register, Including BNY Mellon's Belgian Unit

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on Friday refreshed its provisional MiCA register, adding 15 authorised crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) and taking the total to 309. Among the new entries is BNY SA/NV, the Belgium-based subsidiary of U.S. banking group BNY Mellon. The latest update also includes four banking institutions, three of them from Germany, alongside digital-asset and payments platforms such as BitPay, Coinify and Bleap. By jurisdiction, Germany and Denmark each added three CASPs. Bulgaria and Latvia each added two. Belgium, Cyprus, Liechtenstein and the Netherlands each added one. ESMA said the update does not change its other MiCA-related lists, including registers for asset-referenced tokens (ARTs), e-money tokens (EMTs) and authorised crypto-asset issuers, nor its list of non-compliant entities. In its previous update following the July 1 end of the transition period, ESMA added 14 CASPs, including Ripple Payments Europe.
