Shiba Inu jumps 37% in two days, then gives back part of the gains as social buzz hits a post-April high
Shiba Inu ($SHIB) rallied 37% over two days before quickly retracing part of the move. Social dominance climbed to 0.084%—its highest level since April 2—suggesting attention peaked after the breakout had already started to fade.
On the way up, whale activity also spiked: 52 $SHIB whale transactions were recorded in a single day, the most since March 31. The surge in large-holder transactions points to profit-taking into strength, while retail interest appeared to arrive late.
The post-pump jump in social metrics implies smaller traders chased momentum near the top, providing liquidity for whales to cut exposure. With memecoins in particular, taking profits as retail FOMO floods timelines is often prudent, while re-entry opportunities tend to appear when sentiment flips and the crowd starts labeling the asset a scam.
