Microsoft, Google and Amazon pledge to fund new AI power needs as grid supply lags 5–10 years
A surge in AI computing demand is colliding with a power-supply crunch, with Microsoft, Google and Amazon among the companies pledging to cover the full cost of additional electricity and required grid infrastructure even as new generation can take 5–10 years to build. The article does not provide direct financial impact data for traditional equities, arguing instead that the infrastructure bottleneck is pushing attention toward physical energy assets such as power and natural gas.
