SecondFi Breach Losses Estimated to Exceed $20 Million Following Wallet Tool Vulnerability

On June 24, Cardano ecosystem project SecondFi announced that a recent security breach was caused by a vulnerability in its proprietary Cardano wallet generation software. While the SecondFi team initially estimated the impact at approximately 16 million ADA, independent analysis suggests a much larger scale. According to SlowMist founder Yu Xian, on-chain movements from the attacker's address indicate that theoretical user losses exceed $20 million, involving more than 129 million ADA and various other tokens. SecondFi is currently collaborating with a leading blockchain security firm for an independent technical review to validate its findings. The project stated it remains committed to resolving operational issues and supporting affected users as the investigation into the exploit continues.
