London High Court upholds injunction blocking South Sudan from new oil prepayment contracts

London’s High Court upheld an injunction on June 15 barring South Sudan from signing new prepayment contracts for Dar Blend or Nile Blend crude until it clears outstanding debts to BB Energy. The ruling maintains a May order and remains in place pending further hearings. BB Energy said it has received irrevocable letters of award from South Sudan’s government for two crude cargoes due before November.
